Ansley Ulm Orfila was born on May 10, 1940 in Lafayette, Louisiana. He began his ministry career as a Baptist, pastoring Bethlehem Baptist Church in Mangham Louisiana. Dr. Orfila received his Bachelor of Arts at Louisiana College and received a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry at New Orleans Theological Seminary.

"Brother O” as he is often called was introduced to the baptism in the Holy Spirit when Ada Swaggart (Jimmy’s grandmother) gave him a magazine with John Olsteen’s testimony of being baptized in the Spirit.

After his Pentecostal experience, Orfila affiliated with the Assemblies of God. He pastored churches in Alto, Louisiana; Pittsburg, Texas; and First Assembly of God in Slidell, Louisiana.

Orfila recently completed ta four volume New Testament commentary.
