Bennie Schaefer graduated from Killeen High School in 1969 and attended Gulf Coast Bible College. He was reared in the church of Christ and converted to Pentecostalism. He was an evangelist and teacher and pastored Word of Life Family Church in Temple, Texas. Bennie was a master craftsman as a carpenter. He was a member of the South Texas Honor/Bound Fellowship of the Assembly of God.

Brother Schaefer passed to his reward on January 19, 2005.
