Cecil Janway
Rev. Cecil Janway was a pastor and church executive. He served as district superindependent of the Louisiana District Council of the Assemblies Of God at the church's Alexandria office from 1976 until his retirement in 1994.
Brother Janway was an accomplished musician on the piano and accordion. Jimmy Swaggart heard him play as a young boy at the Assembly of God in Ferriday, Louisiana and asked God to give him the gift of music.
He was a member of the General Presbytery of the General Council of The Assemblies Of God. He served on the board of regents of Southwestern Assemblies Of God University and the board of directors of Hillcrest Children's Home.
Brother Janway went to his eternal reward on November 17, 2002. He was 81 years of age.
