Edwin Burris was born October 9, 1915.

Brother Burris was a 1936 graduate of Southwestern Bible School in Enid, Oklahoma. He was ordained by the Assemblies of God on October 11, 1945. He preached for thirty-eight years, 22 of which he served as pastor of First Assembly of God in Van Buren, Arkansas. For nine years the church lead the nation in Speed-the-Light giving.

He also served as the Youth Director, Sunday School Director, General Presbyter and Assistant District Superintendent for the Arkansas Assemblies of God.

Brother Burris finished his ministry as an evangelist and passed from this life to his eternal home on October 10, 1979.
