Jimmy Leon Beggs is an Assemblies of God pastor and missionary. . In1960 he began his pastoral ministry in Morton, Texas. Jimmy and his wife Mary felt a call to Africa from their courtship and answered that call in 1964 when they and their children arrived in Tanzania. For the next 28 years they evangelized, planted churches, directed Bible schools, and wrote women’s ministry literature.
In 1992 the Beggs returned to the United States to spend twenty years pastoring churches in the Peninsular Florida, West Texas and Kansas Districts.
Brother Beggs lives in Amarillo, Texas. The Beggs son Greg is the Africa regional director for Assemblies of God World Missions. He supervises the work of more than 350 missionaries.
