W W Cothran pastored a number of churches throughout Texas including Georgetown and College Heights in Bryan. He was a long-term presbyter of the Austin Section of North Texas District Council of the Assemblies of God.

Brother Cothran was pastoring in Texas City in 1947 when the town was devastated by terrible explosions along the port, the worst industrial accident in US history. His family was miraculously saved from injury but neraly 600 perished.

Brother Cothran went to be with Jesus in March 2000 at the ripe age of 86.
