Judge B Lindsey
Judge Battle Lindsey was born Sept. 17, 1912, in Mannsville, Oklahoma to Elbert S. and Maggie Holder Lindsey. He married Lila Faye Burk on July 1, 1931.
He was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God Churches for 70 years.
He had the first religious broadcast on KARV radio in Russellville in the 1940's, and for many years had the Sunday morning service of First Assembly of God Church in Russellville broadcast live. His last sermon was preached in spring of 1996, at Welcome Hill Assembly of God Church.
He pastored three churches during his lifetime: First Assembly of God in Russellville, Arkansas, from 1944 to 1953; Covina Assembly of God in Covina, California, from 1953 to 1971; Putnam City Assembly of God, Putnam City, Oklahoma, from 1971-1973. He then returned to pastor First Assembly of God in Russellville, Arkansas, from August, 1973, to April, 1978, when he retired. Prior to pastoring, he traveled as an evangelist, and served as an assistant pastor.
He was recognized by the General Council of the Assemblies of God in Dallas, Texas, for planting ten new churches.
He was a dynamic communicator of the gospel of Jesus Christ, an avid fisherman, greatly esteemed for his expertise, and an excellent marksman at hunting.
Judge died Oct. 7, 2000, in Russellville at the age of 88.
